Safety
BBI is committed to ensuring the maintenance and continual improvement of a safe and healthy working environment and includes a requirement for all staff and contractors to commit to, and actively support, the organisation’s Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System. Supporting this requirement, BBI ensures that all employees receive adequate training to enable them to carry out their work competently, safely and efficiently.
BBI’s Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Executive Committee is comprised of representatives from BBI and its assets. The Committee assists and supports the BBI Boards to fulfil its health, safety and environmental obligations through the development, implementation and review of the OH&S Program Strategy for all employees and assets. One of the key benefits of the Committee is the opportunities for learning across the Group through the sharing of information, concepts, ideas and solutions.
Although information sharing occurs throughout the year, this process is formalised annually as part of BBI’s Peer Review Program. The Peer Review is aimed at supporting and enhancing OH&S Management Systems across the Group through the exchange of experiences and practices at a working level.
The program involves representatives from various assets reviewing the OH&S Management Systems of an asset to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
